Chief Justice John Roberts Accused of Coercing Other Judges to Reject Texas Lawsuit Through Shouted Threats

Americans were stunned when the Supreme Court of the United States declined to hear a case initiated by Texas, and supported by almost two dozen others as well as more than a hundred United States representatives.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s case was turned down by the court on December 11, and while the court didn’t release a vote count, the two senior conservative judges on the panel, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito making it known that they were in favor of hearing the case.
So what was it that caused the nation’s high court to not take up the case that would have put the entire country out of the misery of believing that their election was unsettled? According to a report in the Epoch Times, it was their chief justice, yelling and swearing about what would happen if they took up the case.
According to the publication, the case was so important that they met in person for the first time in quite a while, and went into a closed room to debate whether or not to take on the case.
“GOP Texas elector, Matt Patrick, said earlier this week, claiming that an anonymous person said that ‘the Justices went into a closed room’ to determine whether to take the Texas lawsuit that was eventually dismissed,” the Epoch Times reported. “Then, according to the elector, ‘When the Texas case was brought up he said he heard screaming through the walls as Justice Roberts and the other liberal Justices were insisting … afraid of what would happen if they did the right thing.’”
The claim also reportedly appeared on Hal Turner’s website, sourcing an alleged “clerk for one of the [Supreme Court] justices.” While it’s still unclear where Patrick obtained his information, his story was strikingly similar:
“The Justices met in a closed and sealed room, as is standard,” Turner’s website said, citing the alleged Supreme Court whistleblower. “Usually it is very calm, however, today we could hear screaming all the way down the hall. They met in person because they didn’t trust the telephonic meeting as secure. Chief Justice Roberts was screaming, ‘Are you going to be responsible for the rioting if we hear this case?’”
Howard Mortman C-SPAN Communications Director tweeted a similar account:
“The Justices went into a closed room…When Texas case was brought up he said he heard screaming through the walls as Justice Roberts and the other liberal Justices were insisting…afraid of what would happen if they did right thing…Moral cowardice”
A spokesperson for the U.S. Supreme Court has since disputed a report as well as the claim that Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts shouted at the eight other justices in a room in the high court. They also assert that the judge was in no way aggressive when urging the other justices not to take up the Texas election lawsuit against four other key states.
As guidance, the court “has been conducting its conferences remotely by phone since March when the building closed due to the pandemic,” a Supreme Court spokesperson told The Epoch Times via email on Friday in response to a question about the claim.
However, according to attorney Lim [sic] Wood, he believes in the credibility of a report given to him that Roberts and Justice Stephen Breyer were heard in August discussed how to make sure that Trump “would never be reelected” over the phone.
When asked to give his sources for the conversation, his response was, “At this time, I cannot. People are worried about their safety.”
