In an appearance on Fox News Thursday, former State Department official David Asher, who was investigating the coronavirus outbreak under President Trump, declared that China already knows the origin of the virus and will continue to refuse to co-operate with fresh probes.
“You would have thought that if they didn’t know exactly where this thing came from they would ask us for help to try to figure it out — and the world community — like they did in SARS, MERS, and the avian flu,” Asher said.
“We’ll get zero answers out of Beijing in the future,” Asher assterd, adding “If they were willing to cooperate they would have done so a long time ago.”
“Unless we adopt a much more coercive strategy, unless we put on sanctions economically, civil litigation and other special measures against the Chinese government’s intransigence, I don’t expect them to offer any cooperation,” Asher further urged.
The former investigator stressed that it is time for countries to come together and exert pressure on the communist state, in order to uncover the truth.
“My experience with China, which is over three decades long, is that coercion can work with China especially through the financial system,” Asher proclaimed, adding “Their banks are totally dependent on the United States’ dollar for their existence. If we start to constrain that, it will put pressure on them. And I expect China to respond positively if pressured.”

Following US intelligence revelations earlier this year that at least three workers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology were hospitalised in November 2019 with symptoms exactly matching COVID, Asher also revealed that the wife of one of the researchers in the lab DIED from the virus just days after.
Asher noted that “an individual who worked at the Wuhan Institute of Virology at the time provided the information on the lab researcher’s wife dying.”
All of this occurred while the communist Chinese government was telling the World Health Organisation that the virus was not transmissible between people. That situation continued for a further MONTH after this information was known.
Asher’s investigation was later shut down by the Biden Administration.
Asher has said that it is “very doubtful that three people in highly protected circumstances” all became sick with “severe conditions all in the same week, and it didn’t have anything to do with the coronavirus.”
Asher has also previously said that the intelligence points to an involvement of the Chinese military conducting bioweapons research at the lab.
The former State Department official said in May that the evidence shows the coronavirus was “optimized for transmission between humans in a way that no bat-borne coronavirus ever had been.”
Asher added that that the idea the COVID-19 virus emerged naturally out of a zoonotic situation is “ridiculous,” and that “there was almost no evidence that supported a natural, zoonotic evolution or source of COVID-19.”
Previous reports have suggested that the Wuhan Institute took a shipment of some of the world’s deadliest pathogens just weeks before the outbreak of the coronavirus. It is also known that the lab was tampering with natural pathogens and mutating them to become more infectious through ‘gain of function’ research.
