Lawsuit: Top Anti-Trump PA Election Official “Fundamentally Changed” Election Process – #stopthesteal

TEA PARTY 247 | November 7, 2020

One of the biggest complaints from GOP members in Pennsylvania has been the handling of election rules as determined by the Democratic Secretary of State, Kathy Boockvar. GOP members in the state have been calling for her resignation but her actions may have single-handedly jeopardized the entire election in Pennsylvania, a critical state for either candidate.

On Oct. 21, Boockvar issued guidance to all PA counties advising that voters whose mail-in ballots were rejected would be eligible for a provisional in-person ballot as a means to “cure” their ballot.

This guidance was then changed on November 2 after some county election officials questioned it. Deputy Secretary of State for elections and commissions, Jonathan Marks, tried to “clarify” how the department of state expected counties to handle the rejected mail-in ballots.

Marks told county officials to inform “party and candidate representatives” of the identification of the voters whose ballots had been rejected as a way “to facilitate communication with these voters.”

Now, several GOP members are suing Boockvar over her guidance including state Rep. Mike Kelly, state Rep. candidate Joseph Hamm along with four others.

The lawsuit states that the counties of Berks, Carbon, Blair, Clinton, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lycoming and Perry all refused to implement the guidance. The lawsuit asserts that individuals whose ballots were rejected should not have been given a provisional ballot on Tuesday.

Just the News reached out to representatives for Adams, York, Montgomery and Bedford counties who all said they weren’t even familiar with the details of the Oct. 21 guidance though the Pennsylvania Department of State claims that every county received the guidance.

PA Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman and Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati have called for Boockvar’s resignation over the guidance saying that it “fundamentally altered” the way PA runs its elections. Though don’t expect anything to actually be done since Democrats are allowed to do whatever they want with impunity, apparently.

“The Department changed the rules again on November 2 when they provided last-second guidance directing counties to provide information to help voters whose mail-in or absentee ballots were incorrectly completed so those voters could vote on a provisional ballot,” Corman and Scarnati wrote in a joint statement.

“The late release of this ‘guidance’ resulted in inconsistent application across the counties — some of whom contacted voters as directed and some who did not,” the state senators added. “There is no basis for this guidance in current law. The Secretary created this new process out of thin air.”

Boockvar “told the U.S. Supreme Court on October 28 that ballots received after 8 p.m. on November 3 would be segregated, but she changed the rules on November 1 and directed counties to canvass those ballots as soon as possible upon receipt,” the lawmakers said. “In some counties, it is not possible to both segregate and canvass ballots as directed.”

Clearly Boockvar who has been an open Trump “hater” was just calling the shots as she saw fit for the entire state of Pennsylvania with zero respect to the actual law. Just another Democrat who thinks she is above the rules and the law.
