Pelosi Security Pick’s Closet Swings Wide Open – The General Showed Up On A Chinese Propaganda Network

THE PATRIOT JOURNAL | By Ben Dutka | April 22, 2021

After the events of January 6, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi assigned a retired general to look into the alleged security failures at the U.S. Capitol.

On the surface, Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré appears to be fully qualified, given his career and experience. And of course, the country still demands a lot of answers for what happened that day.

But as it turns out, Pelosi’s pick might now be under scrutiny.

Not because he isn’t qualified, but because he recently chose to do an interview about the climate change issue.

This interview wasn’t conducted by an American company, and Honoré had some pretty negative things to say about how this country deals with the problem.

In fact, it was conducted by CGTN America: according to sources, this is a propaganda arm of the Chinese Communist Party, and they’ve been accusing the U.S. of not doing enough to fight climate change.

But on top of that, Honoré agreed. This likely won’t help his reputation in the eyes of many American citizens.

Via The Daily Caller:

One shot fired in the propaganda war came this week in the form of an interview that CGTN America, the U.S. affiliate of the Beijing-controlled China Central Television (CCTV), conducted with retired Army Lt. General Russel Honoré.

There are a few important points to consider here:

First, Honoré is the founder of the Green Army, an environmental group that frequently calls out anyone who doesn’t agree with the climate change theory.

Second, China has historically been the world’s biggest polluter for years, so one would think that Honoré would call out that country. It’s what his group fights against, after all.

And yet, he appears on a Beijing-controlled network, and takes to criticizing his own country. This could have a profoundly negative impact, as The Daily Caller noted:

…in giving the interview, Honoré provided fodder that China’s propaganda mills used to subtly tarnish the image of the U.S.

It’s common for the Communist Party to spread their message in a subtle way. But according to the pro-democracy think tank Freedom House, the next step is “to deliver harsh CCP propaganda to large global audiences.”

Freedom House often analyzes the tactics of places like China Daily, People’s Daily, and the network Honoré spoke to, CGTN.

This all begs the question: why is a retired general slamming America’s response to climate change on a China-run network? And what does this have to do with investigating security at The Capitol?

It would also be interesting to know what Pelosi thinks of this. Millions of American citizens would probably like to know, too.

Key Takeaways:

  • Nancy Pelosi tapped retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré to investigate the security failings at the U.S. Capitol.
  • Then Honoré shows up on a network connected to the Chinese Communist Party.
  • Sources claim this could be used to tarnish America’s reputation in the fight against climate change.
