Steve Bannon Praises Chris Hayes on Ukraine, Slams Sean Hannity For Working to ‘Send Your Kids to War’ Against Putin

On Thursday’s episode of his influential podcast, War Room, Steve Bannon praised MSNBC’s Chris Hayes and tore into Fox News’ Sean Hannity over their differing approaches to covering the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Bannon played a clip from Hayes’ MSNBC program and praised Hayes for a “moment of truth” for saying that the “average Russian has nothing to do with this.” Bannon, the former senior Trump adviser, lamented the U.S. and Europe’s crippling sanctions on the Russian economy and quoted a Columbia professor who called such moves a “declaration of war” on Russia.
Later in the podcast, Bannon spoke with former Trump adviser Steve Cortes and kicked off the interview by noting that Hannity, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and all the “neocons out there, all they want to do is send your kids to war with your dollars.”
“How is Chris Hayes having segments like that, probably the most powerful segment that’s been done yet on this war, the real war? And you’ve got Hannity, Hannity is trying to decapitate a regime, he’s trying to have regime change,” Bannon said, referencing Hannity’s suggestion on Wednesday to “cut the head of the snake off” and assassinate Putin.
Cortes jumped in saying that Hannity is “losing the plot completely” because “he’s had too much of Lindsey Graham.”
“When you have Lindsey Graham on your show, the globalist loser, every other night and you do nothing but love and kiss up to him, unfortunately, it’s going to warp your mind, I guess, over time. And that’s what’s happened to Hannity.”
Cortes continued by further detailing Hannity’s hawkish rhetoric on Russia and argued “we live in an upside-down world in many ways where Chris Hayes is speaking the truth and Hannity is spewing nonsense.”
Cortes continued by lumping Hannity in with George Soros and other right-wing boogeymen while claiming that the U.S. media is lying to the public about the war:
And most importantly, our own media lies to us constantly and whenever all these forces line up together, whenever you have George Soros and Hannity and Lindsey Graham and Kevin McCarthy in the House, when all of them are lined up on the same side and all of them are donning Ukrainian flags, your antennae should go up. That should be a time for you to get skeptical.
