WASHINGTON D.C. – Law enforcement officials from across the country have reached out to Law Enforcement Today asking us to warn police across America about a potential threat.

Transparently – our team debated internally whether or not to cover this story.  We are America’s largest law enforcement owned and operated media outlet, and we are unapologetically pro-police. 

Although we don’t hesitate to call out and provide media coverage of bad apples, our priority is in giving the voice to law enforcement that they’re often denied in the mainstream media.

The last thing we want to do is put officers at risk by giving bad people ideas. 

But soon after this threat started spreading like wildfire online, we had law enforcement from across the country reach out.  They pointed out that the threat is already circulating. 

Many have asked us to address it so that departments are aware of it and can take precautions to make changes, if they deem it necessary – especially given how quickly it’s circulating. 

They made a valid point – it’s better to be aware of a potential danger and take precautions than to not know about it because of a national breakdown in communication.

It’s worth noting that we have NOT received any confirmation of this from the FBI.  With that said, a number of agencies have confirmed for us off the record that they’re aware of it and are making internal changes.  We’ve been asked for obvious reasons to not report which agencies they are.

Here’s what we’re told.

In a number of different communities in states ranging from California and Texas to Florida – reports have come in that small groups of individuals appear to be canvassing neighborhoods and taking pictures of homes that have police cruisers in the driveways.

“I can absolutely confirm this,” told us one police spokesman, who asked that his department be kept anonymous because of the threats.  “We’ve received multiple reports throughout the weekend both in terms of phone calls and alerts that neighborhood residents are putting out on community watch apps.”

It comes as police are receiving direct, personal threats through social media, calls and emails.

“We and our children are receiving threats,” one police lieutenant told Law Enforcement Today.

The departments we spoke with said that they’re currently making policy changes so that take-home police cruisers are either garaged or – for now – left at the police departments.

“We expect danger when on the job,” said one sergeant.  “But this is different.  They are threatening to burn down our homes and kill our families.”

Officials have also told us that they’re instructing officers to make other changes, such as making sure uniforms aren’t hanging in personal vehicles while driving into work.

“Effective starting this past weekend, no police vehicles – including unmarked vehicles – will be brought up,” one Captain told Law Enforcement Today.  “This isn’t to punish our guys – it’s to protect them and their families.”

All of this comes as the Minnesota National Guard deals with what the FBI says is a ‘credible, lethal threat’.  As a result, activated units are now armed.

 

The National Guard’s top general requested military police units from out of state as a result of the threat.  He has not requested active-duty forces yet.

These threats reportedly came after officials worked to determine if extremist groups had infiltrated police brutality protests across the country.

 

Law enforcement is looking into if they deliberately tipped largely peaceful demonstrations toward violence.

To make matters worse, they’re investigating if foreign adversaries – such as Russia – were behind a growing disinformation campaign on social media.

On Saturday, an Antifa activist group put out a message that encouraged people to consider Minnesota National Guard troops “easy targets,” according to two Defense Department officials.

The activists were encouraged to steal “kit”, or the weapons and body armor used by the soldiers.

The officials were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity, reports one outlet.

Now, soldiers with the Minnesota National Guard have been armed during all missions at protests across the state.

The soldiers are sometimes – but not always – armed.  Yet for the past few days, they haven’t been armed as they’ve moved into parts of the state taken over by riots.

In the state, the troops do not currently have the authority to make arrests, and are there to act essentially as extra security for police.

There are currently more than 4,100 National Guard soldiers and airmen in Minneapolis.

Hours after President Trump declared that he’ll be designating Antifa as a terror organization, they reportedly made the ultimate threat – we’re bringing the war to the suburbs.

Now authorities are on high alert – regardless of who may be behind it.

Screenshots of the above post have been circulating throughout law enforcement agencies tonight. 

It was reportedly put up on Twitter not long before the Antifa-named account was suspended.  As a result, we’ve been unable to do more digging into the history of the account and the legitimacy of it.

Twitter exploded shortly after the post was put up, with some people expressing fear, others expressing outrage… and yet others encouraging Antifa to “bring the war to us so we can end it’.

There’s been virtual silence from many Democrats – presumably because Antifa is a far-left organization.

Here’s part of the challenge in responding to – or combating – Antifa.

The group seemingly has no national leadership.  It’s more of a loosely affiliated partnership of autonomous local groups of far-left activists.

And that’s why some say it’s a hard enemy to fight.

We’ll be keeping you updated as this story develops.  Stay alert – keep your doors and windows locked – and be prepared.

Videos of the protests happening in Portland showed a brutal display of violence coming from the demonstrators of Black Lives Matter. The level of brutality shown can be easily labeled as near-lethal assaults.

One video showcases a man doing nothing more than holding an American flag. One protester adorned in black bloc jams a finger in the face of the older gentleman holding the flag and says:

We’re fucking done with people like you.”

After making that statement, the Antifa-style clad aggressor then throws a punch at the man. Another among the protesters grabs the man’s flag to pull him toward the group of the Black Lives Matter crowd.

Suddenly, several people swarm the man, some trying to save him while others continuously assault him.

This report comes shortly after President Donald Trump stated that Antifa will be labeled a terrorist organization. 

This announcement couldn’t come at a more needed time. 

The man was eventually removed from the scene, but the victim was clearly disoriented and the state of his injuries is unknown.

During the first video of the Portland assaults, the camera breaks away from the man with the flag being assaulted and shows another man in a blue shirt and jeans backing away from a crowd of masked protesters telling him to leave the area.

A second video then captures what happened to the man from presumably the same group shortly thereafter.

Three men start chasing the victim, who eventually gets shoved down by one of the masked individuals.

The victim appeared to have been knocked unconscious by the fall alone, but another from the group violently kicks him in the head.

On the ground where the man was kicked, a spattered plot of blood stained the concrete.

Some of the Black Lives Matter protesters did render aid to the man who was attacked, but others were simultaneously taunting him as well. One person can be heard saying, in a jovial manner:

Knocked his mother fucking ass out.”

Another person can be heard saying:

Black lives matter, you f*ggot.”

The irony is, that all the violent aggressors in the videos shown don’t appear to be black.

In fact, the only people that came to help and render medical attention to the injured man were two black women.

It has gotten to the point where black demonstrators are having to document the likes of Antifa being the ones responsible for the destruction.

One woman starts recording two women who are spray painting the side of a Starbucks with “BLM,” and she calls them out on camera.

 

During the video she says:

Let me tell you something. This is not a black woman who is putting up ‘Black Lives Matter.’ I just want you to know.”

The woman addresses the two vandals caught on camera, who appear to be Antifa black bloc, and tells them:

We didn’t ask you to do that. Don’t spray stuff on here when they’re gonna blame black people for this and black people didn’t do it.”

When the two masked women just walked away after the vandalism, the woman says to them:

Y’all are part of the problem.”

The woman then turns the camera back to herself, to provide a narrative of what she witnessed:

When the news comes on, they’re gonna say we did that. We didn’t do that. Stuff like this ain’t right. That’s what the problem is.

We’re out here standing together peacefully protesting, without any problems. You’ve got people of all races spraying on buildings talking about ‘black lives matter’ – that ain’t even us.”

Perhaps, one of the most powerful statements delivered by the young woman was the following:

Don’t let the media fool you. When you see the vandalism on these places, know that it wasn’t us.”

It’s safe to say, we’re starting to get a real clear picture of what’s going on.

Here’s the good news.

After nights of violence – in many states fueled by Antifa militants – President Trump announced on Sunday that the United States of America will be designating it as a terrorist organization.

Last July, two Republican senators pushed to label the anti-fascist group Antifa as “domestic terrorists”. 

The move came after their protests in Portland, Oregon where a conservative journalist was attacked.

The two senators are Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Bill Cassidy (R-La.). 

They proposed the resolution to the Senate to condemn the actions taken by Antifa and to mark the group as “domestic terrorists.”

The two put out a statement where Cruz went after Antifa, calling them “a group of hateful, intolerant radicals” that use “aggressive violence” to advance their “unhinged agenda” and that their “actions” have shown that their “only purpose” was to “inflict harm on those who oppose their views.”

“Antifa is a group of hateful, intolerant radicals who pursue their unhinged agenda through aggressive violence,” Sen. Cruz said.

Time and time again, their actions have demonstrated that their only purpose is to inflict harm on those who oppose their views.

The hate and violence they spread must be stopped, and I am proud to introduce this resolution with Senator Cassidy to properly identify what Antifa are: domestic terrorists.”

Cassidy also went after the group in his statement. 

He called them “violent masked bullies” that are “protected by liberal privilege” when they “‘fight fascism’ with actual fascism” and called for “courage, not cowardice” by elected officials “who allow violence against the innocent.”

“Antifa are terrorists, violent masked bullies who ‘fight fascism’ with actual fascism, protected by Liberal privilege,” said Dr. Cassidy. “With bullies, they get their way until someone says no. There must be courage, not cowardice, from the elected officials who allow violence against the innocent.”

In the actual resolution, it references the attack on conservative journalist Andy Ngo during an Antifa protest in Portland in June. 

In July, authorities in Portland, Oregon started calling for laws that will help curb violence at demonstrations. Among those laws would be one that would prohibit protestors from wearing masks. 

Another would allow police to videotape demonstrations and would also give the city more control over rallies organized by groups that have violent histories.

“We cannot allow people to continue to use the guise of free speech to commit a crime,’’ police Chief Danielle Outlaw said in a Wednesday news conference.

That conference was held to address the violence in June during three competing downtown demonstrations.

 

A number of people were hurt during them when ANTIFA battled with conservative protestors with the Proud Boys and supporters of the #HimToo movement.

Oregon wouldn’t be the first state.  15 other states and a number of countries have anti-mask laws.

Not surprisingly, the American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon said it’s a violation of the Constitution.

“A policy that prohibits wearing a mask to a protest will have police focusing on the wrong issue,” said Sarah Armstrong.

She’s a spokeswoman for the group.

“Behavior is the issue, not the mask,” she said.

It could be argued that the mask is an important symbolic part of a protester’s message. …  There are many legitimate reasons people wear ‘masks,’ including political and religious reasons.”

But Outlaw said the masks are actually a matter of public safety.

“A lot of people are emboldened because they know they can’t be identified,’’ Outlaw said.

Obviously this all went down before cities started requiring masks to combat the spread of the current pandemic.

Opponents say these laws would deprive people anonymity to express their views and would violate their First Amendment rights.

“We looked into it previously and the constitutional free speech issues are difficult to overcome, at least in Oregon, said Tim Crail, chief of staff for Portland Commissioner Amanda Fritz.

On Saturday night in Washington, the National Guard was activated by Governor Jay Inslee in Washington State due to complete civil unrest and chaos in downtown Seattle. 

At the mayor’s request, Inslee authorized up to 200 guards members to respond. The Governor stated, however, the guards members would be unarmed.

As violence erupted across the state, social media warriors decided to attack officers after a child was impacted by pepper spray.

Perhaps the real question that should be asked is why people are bringing their kids to violent riots – but hey, what do we know?

Police vehicles are burning in the streets. One reported Antifa member stole a rifle out of a burning police car.

He was approached by a what appeared to be an officer at gunpoint and quickly surrendered the gun back to the officer.

The officer appears to be completely alone in the video and unable to even take the thief into custody.

It was reported in some places that the man who disarmed the Antifa member was actually a security guard. It’s unknown at this time exactly who he was affiliated with.

Another rifle is said to be outstanding from the several burning police vehicles.

The rain was unable to keep out Seattle Protesters Saturday, nor was a 5 pm curfew enacted by Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan. 

The Mayor said:

While most of those protests were peaceful, there have been isolated but significant events of violence and destruction.

 

This temporary curfew is intended to preserve the health and safety of our residents by keeping our streets safe and accessible for essential workers and first responders and preventing the further spread of COVID-19.”

The city announced:

The curfew is intended to prevent violence and widespread property damage, and to prevent the further community spread of COVID-19 through continued gathering.

The temporary curfew does not impact people who need to commute to work during these hours, people experiencing homelessness, people in a medical emergency or people in a dangerous situation, first responders, health care workers, and the news media.

 
In addition, the curfew does not require businesses to close while it is in effect, and it will not alter public transit schedules.”

Police were forced to pepper spray rioters who got too close to their lines. Some police used their bikes to push back against the crowd.

Several officers were said to have been injured so far. Multiple arrests have been made but police don’t have an exact count at this point.

Washington State Patrol was forced to close both directions of I-5 through Seattle between I-90 and Highway 520 while protesters marched on the freeways.

Governor Inslee said:

The National Guard is on stand by to assist the Seattle Police Department as requested by Mayor Durkan. They will be unarmed and assist with infrastructure protection and crowd movement. They will only be utilized if absolutely necessary and we appreciate their efforts to help in this important work.”

It’s unknown what the National Guard is supposed to do while they’re unarmed against the domestic terrorist rioters.

According to the City’s Proclamation of Civil Emergency the following damage was done during the riots so far:

  • Multiple Seattle Police Department officers injured;
  • Multiple community members injured;
  • Several arrests made;
  • Demonstrators throwing bottles at police officers;
  • Demonstrators throwing lit fireworks into crowds;
  • Demonstrators have set several SPD vehicles on fire;
  • Demonstrators have thrown several Molotov cocktails at vehicles;
  • Two AR-15 rifles have been stolen from SPD vehicles, one recovered and one outstanding; and
  • Seattle Fire Department currently has limited, and occasionally completely restricted, access to buildings that are on fire.

Weapons in the area have been banned.
