Democrat Representative Vernon Jones Switches Party Affiliation to Republican
BY LISA MICHELLE
Those who were shocked when Georgia’s Democrat representative Vernon Jones threw his support behind Donald J. Trump’s 2020 bid for president and advocated for him at the Republican National Convention in August might be dismayed but not too surprised by his recent announcement.
Jones is following in the footsteps of the former New Jersey Democrat representative now turned Republican Jeff Van Drew. He refused to succumb to the pressure of Democrat leadership to vote for the impeachment of President Trump and switched parties instead.
Jones has been an outspoken critic of the fraud and irregularities surrounding the 2020 General Election and the corrupt mishandling of it by Georgia’s Republican Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. This morning, he announced how he plans to fight back.
“Moments ago,” he wrote on Twitter, “I announced that I am officially joining the Republican Party. Now more than ever, the Republican Party is in desperate need of leaders that know how to fight. I know how to fight.”

Now more than ever, the Republican Party is in desperate need of leaders that know how to fight.
I know how to fight.
Jones has already changed his party affiliation from “D” to “R” on his Twitter account, but just how much will Trump’s populous base has left to support the Republican Party remains to be seen . . .
