Part 2: The Apostasy Wars Following Mohammad’s Death

After Abu Bakr became caliph, many—unwilling to be ruled by a self-proclaimed prophet—rejected him and Islam itself. Other false prophets popped up in Eastern Arabia, Yemen, and north central Arabia — all trying to claim autonomy from the deceased Mohammad. All Arab tribes but two left Islam. Abu Bakr sent his most skilled warriors (Khalid as the leader) to force submission to Islam and kill those who didn’t. His biggest rival was Malik, who professed his faith in Islam under duress, but Khalid had him killed anyway and then, according to Khalid’s successor Umar, “jumped on Malik’s wife.” Abu Bakr pardoned him from the Quran law that prohibits a Muslim from killing another Muslim (Quran 4:92). More changes; however, the Quran had not been collected as of yet via eyewitness accounts and hearsay, which often were in disagreement and caused much disunity.
Once Abu Bakr established his supremacy via war, he turned his sights to Iraq and Syria. The Iraqi people, both Christian and Muslims, agreed to pay the jizyah (life) tax and be subject to Abu Bakr — once again, to convert, die, or to be enslaved and pay the jizya tax. Khalid then stormed through Persia taking sex slaves and ordered Al Walid to take Syria. Abu Bakr died, and, to Khalid’s displeasure, Abu made Umar the new caliph (more power struggles).
Khalid, as a military commander succeeded in doing what Mohammad desired:
If I live — if Allah wills — I will expel the Christians and Jews from the Arabian Peninsula.”
With Mohammad and his followers, it was always war for booty, sex, and the jizyah tax from infidels. The Quran in 9:33, 48:28, and 61:9 makes it plain that Islam is to triumph over all other religions. Their ability to gain and retain power was directly tied to one’s obedience to Allah, Islam and the example of Mohammad. Nothing has changed to this day. They still hate, deceive, kill and enslave.
Jerusalem was next. Islamic tradition was yet again expounded as being merciful, etc., when in fact around December of 637 Sophronius described it as cruel plunder, incessant blood, devastated fields, burned down villages and churches, and crosses mocked. So much for a peaceful religion.
Egypt was next in 639. The leader of the invasion was general Amri ibn al-As. He was extremely brutal. Egyptian historians described him as showing no mercy, taking slaves and booty. When they arrived at John’s native town, Nikiou, they slaughtered every man, woman, and child in the streets. Similarly, in Alexandria and Armenia it was brutal slaughter — absolutely the opposite of what Islamic history tells us.
The next caliph was Uthman ibi Affan to the displeasure of shiat Ali, who never accepted Uthman. Hence, the term “Shia” was born. Under Uthman, the Muslims completed their conquest of Egypt, North Africa, and Armenia. He also mandated jihad on the high seas against Cyprus and Rhodes. In 651 he wrote to the Byzantine emperor Constantine to renounce Christianity for Islam or die. It was at this time in the 650s that the Quran began to be compiled as it is today. In 653, he ordered all other Qurans destroyed and sent his new versions — something missing in Islamic history. Many revolted against his version, so he was assassinated in 656. And so began the reign of terror by the fourth caliph, Ali ibn Abi Tlaib, but that’s another story . . .

Executions were carried out right in front of the Delhi’s emissary/palace to such an extent that the entrance to the palaces were often blocked by corpses.
